Closing date extended: 4pm, Monday 25th October
Health Consumers Queensland has an opportunity for 17 consumers and/or carers to host a discussion with community members to seek input to help inform a new Palliative and End-of-Life Care Strategy for Queensland. The Strategy will guide the Queensland Government’s new investment of $171 million to improve accessibility and equity of access to ensure all Queenslanders can access high-quality palliative care.
Each Kitchen Table Discussion will be led by a Consumer or Carer Host with a strong community network. The host will invite up to eight community members to a discussion in a location of their choosing. If hosting a session online via Zoom or Skype, the host will invite up to six community members to participate. <Click here for more information about Kitchen Table Discussions>
The consultation process to develop the Strategy is building on previous information and feedback the Department has heard through consultation with the community. This consultation process seeks consumers’ perspectives on draft principles and goals for the Strategy, as well as potential actions to be considered that would improve palliative and end-of-life care services for consumers, to ensure new directions enable person-centred palliative and end of life care across the State.
