Closing date: 4pm, Thursday 10th February 2022
Health Consumers Queensland has an opportunity for two (2) consumers or carers living on the Brisbane South Bay Islands to host a kitchen table discussion or yarning circle with ten (10) community members to learn about their current needs, experiences of, access to and awareness of available social, health and community supports and services relating to serious illness, dying, death and grief.
About the project
Health Consumers Queensland has been contracted by Palliative Care Queensland to facilitate two (2) kitchen table discussions/yarning circles in February/March to learn about your communities’ current needs, experience of, access to and awareness of available social, health and community supports and services relating to serious illness, dying, death and grief.
The outcomes of the community consultations will be provided to Palliative Care Queensland, Brisbane South PHN, the PalliChat BSth Project Steering Committee, and will be used to inform the development of a tool to support people living on islands in relation to palliative care.
Who are we seeking as hosts?
Community members who have an interest in palliative care with excellent community connections, or you are caring for someone or have recently cared for someone experiencing a serious illness, dying, death or grief while living on the Brisbane South Bay Islands (Moreton Island, North Stradbroke Island, Coochiemudlo Island, Macleay Island, Lamb Island, Karragarra Island, Russell Island, Peel Island, Mud Island, Green Island, St Helena Island).
