Closing date: 4pm, Friday 21 October 2022

Health Consumers Queensland has an opportunity for nine consumers and/or carers living in the Darling Downs and West Moreton region to host a Kitchen Table Discussion or Yarning Circle with local community members to hear about their experiences of allied health and to learn what can be done to improve allied health services.

This project is part of the Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network (PHN)’s ‘TALK ABOUT’ which is a way for Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to ask you about your experience with health care in your community.

We would like our hosts to be consumers and have strong community connections. You’ll be able to invite a group of 10 participations to your discussion or yarning circle and your participants will be currently using or have used allied health services in the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN region in the last two years.

As the host, your role will be to plan, coordinate and host a once-only 90 minute to two hour discussion with community members. This includes:
·       Inviting local community to participate (ideally, community members who do not normally have their voice heard in healthcare).
·       Choosing a time, date and venue between 28th October and 14th November and host your session.
·       Complete and provide the discussion feedback to Health Consumers Queensland by 15th November.

You will receive training, a host guide and toolkit with all printed documentation and support from Health Consumers Queensland to host and complete the session.
