Health Consumers Queensland has an opportunity for two (2) consumers or carers in the Townsville region to consult with their local community to assist Palliative Care Queensland understand the current supports in place, community needs and opportunities for the health, social and community systems in relation to ensuring people experiencing a serious illness, dying, death or grief during a disaster are supported.

About the project

Health Consumers Queensland has been contracted by Palliative Care Queensland through the Connecting End of Life Care in Townsville project to facilitate two (2) kitchen table discussions or yarning circles in February/March to understand the current supports in place, community needs and opportunities for the health, social and community systems in relation to ensuring people experiences a serious illness, dying, death or grief during a disaster are supported.

Who are we seeking as hosts?

Consumers or community members who have an understanding or interest in this important subject or consumers/carers who have had a family member (or themselves) experience a serious illness, dying, death or grief during a disaster (for example: flood, cyclone, fires, COVID-19 lock-downs).
