The Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch (MHAODB) of Queensland Health and the Queensland Children’s Hospital Foundation (QCHF) invites two consumer and carer representatives to join an Oversight Committee, established to guide implementation of a two-year pilot project to deliver a digital model of mental health service for young people in Queensland – led by Orygen Digital (OD) .

This digital online model of mental health service delivery is designed to be offered as adjunct to face-to-face clinical care with existing mental health alcohol and other drugs services to enhance care for young people. It is designed to increase mental health literacy, motivate, and empower young people to pursue and access more relevant and timely services via virtual resources and interventions and enhance capacity to outreach disengaged, regional and remote young people.

The MHAODB and QCHF welcome applications from:

  • Young health consumers between the ages of 16-25 years with a lived experience of mental health alcohol and other drugs and have accessed mental health services in Queensland and possibly digital/online support services
  • Carers who are caring for someone with a lived experienced of accessing Queensland Health’s mental health services
  • Consumers or carers who identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander or of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds

The Pilot Project Oversight Committee will be responsible for overseeing the governance, including providing strategic advice, direction, and guidance to ensure the pilot project is delivered in accordance with funding requirements. A detail project governance framework will be made available to the successful applicants for further information.
