13th National Allied Health Conference Consumer Experience Video Working Group
Closing date: Friday, 15 February 2019
The Allied Health Professions’ Office of Queensland is recruiting one (1) consumer representative to be a member of the 13th National Allied Health Conference Consumer Experience Video Working Group. The videos will be played as a key part of the 13th National Allied Health Conference scientific program on 6 + 7 August 2019.
The purpose of the working group is to develop a list of standard questions that will be asked of the consumers in the consumer videos. The questions will focus on their experience with allied health. Each 5-minute consumer video will be played prior to the relevant keynote speaker presentation at the National Allied Health Conference.
What is Allied Health?
Allied health professionals are health professionals that are not part of the medical, dental or nursing professions. They are university qualified practitioners with specialised expertise in preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of conditions and illnesses. Allied health practitioners often work within a multidisciplinary health team to provide specialised support for different patient needs.
Allied health services include, but are not limited to: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and dietetics, psychology, social work, speech pathology, pharmacy, orthoptics, and podiatry.
Who is it for?
This experience would suit a consumer that would like to provide input into the videos but does not have the confidence to participate in the videos themselves. The consumer must have experience receiving care from an allied health professional within the past 12 months.
