Health Consumers Queensland is searching for passionate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who are interested in hosting a yarning circle in their local community. The purpose of the yarn is to gain feedback on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing to inform the development of health and wellbeing services and strategies across Queensland.

Hosts will be remunerated $374.00 for hosting an in-person yarning circle at a venue of your choosing plus up to $100 in catering reimbursement. Participants will be provided with a $60 visa card from Health Consumers Queensland for their time.

This is your opportunity to empower your community to have a say and be heard in a culturally safe way.

We are looking for hosts in the following geographical areas but would love to open the invitation to anyone who would be interested in joining HCQ’s network of First Nations hosts to facilitate yarning circles for future projects.
