Training and Skills Building
Health Consumers Queensland works alongside consumers and health staff to drive meaningful and respectful partnering to improve and influence health services and systems.
Our Training and Skills Program is designed for all health sector staff, working across service and system levels. We encourage involvement regardless of your experience and where you may be in your consumer partnering practice.
Our training sessions and learning opportunities are designed to be inclusive and supportive so all people participating feel confident to discuss experiences, challenges and share ideas for partnering.
What do we offer?
The Training and Skills Program continues to evolve in response to sector needs, as well as experiences and insights from the Consumer Representative community. HCQ is currently refreshing our suite of offerings, with further opportunities to be added to the training sessions listed below.

Thanks, it has been really comprehensive and many of my thinking or questions were covered in your presentation. Well done on inspiring broad engagement.
The webinar was brilliantly run. Thank you HCQ.
Really fabulous overview of what it means to be a consumer health rep and the possibilities for contributing. I’m really looking forward to the next session.
Thanks for today’s training. Chanelle and Suzanne did a great job of making the session engaging and informative.
It was an excellent session which felt very agile to the size of the group. The lived experience of [the consumer presenter] was also excellent and quite eye-opening to better highlight the inequalities, lack of health literacy and challenges.
Absolutely amazing! Working together and hearing different perspectives was great.
Great job. Really lovely safe way of learning about consumer engagement.
Really fabulous overview of what it means to be a consumer health rep and the possibilities for contributing. I’m really looking forward to the next session.
